A memorial plaque to Junior Sergeant, commander of the second engineering and camouflage squad of the first engineering and camouflage platoon of the engineering and camouflage company of the A4733 military unit, Hero Vasyl Hnatiuk, was unveiled and consecrated on the facade of the Victor Matiuk Children’s Art School in Sokal.
This was announced by Vasyl Sorochuk.
Vasyl Hnatiuk worked as a teacher at the Sokal Children’s Art School named after V. Matiuk of the Sokal City Council, teaching children to play the flute and accordion.
This sign will serve as a reminder to today’s and future generations of the patriotism and heroic deeds of Vasyl Hnatiuk, a resident of Zavyshen village.

On 4 July 2024, near the village of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, a resident of the village of Zavyshen, Vasyl Hnatiuk, born in 1977, died as a result of an enemy drone strike on his car.
From the first days of the war, Vasyl Mykhailovych served to defend Ukraine. He served as the commander of the second engineering and camouflage unit of the first engineering and camouflage platoon of the engineering and camouflage company of the military unit A-4733. He was faithful to his military oath to the end, courageously defending our country from the aggressor.
