Vadym Kulyk from Drohobych Killed in Action Defending Ukraine

Tomorrow, the community of Drohobych will bid farewell to a fellow townsman, a defender of Ukraine, Vadym Kulyk, who died defending the country. Vadym was born in Medenychi on June 19, 1969, studied at Drohobych School No. 10, and obtained higher education at the local university.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, on March 8, 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Vadym served in the local territorial defence, later in military unit A7031 as a driver in the rifle department. While on a combat mission near the village of Bublykove on March 24, 2026, Vadym’s life was tragically cut short.

The hero leaves behind a wife, two children, a mother, and a sister. Tomorrow, March 31, a funeral cortege will arrive in Drohobych. The assembly is at 13:30 at the Heroes’ Crossroads. After that, the cortege will proceed to Rynok Square, where a city-wide farewell will take place at 14:00. The funeral service will begin at 14:30 at the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called, followed by burial at the cemetery on Pylypa Orlyka Street.
