Valery Zaluzhny awarded a soldier from Sambor with the “Golden Cross” badge

Ivan Kratasyuk, originally from Sambor, was awarded for saving the lives of many defenders of Ukraine.

Ivan Kratasiuk from Sambir received the “Golden Cross” award from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. This badge of honor honors servicemen for their heroism in battle.

This was reported in the Sambir city council.

Ivan Kratasiuk has been in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since February 2023. After mobilisation, he completed the courses of a combat medic and went to the frontline of the troops. Having gained experience, he became an instructor in tactical medicine.

Since May 2023, the soldier has been fighting in the Bakhmut direction. At that time, this section of the front was one of the hottest. Under heavy fire, Ivan rescued the wounded, evacuated his comrades from the battlefield.

“Now the soldier continues his service in the Kupyansk-Lymansk direction in the 420th separate rifle battalion. And although he himself was injured more than once and received a concussion, he saves the lives of our soldiers. The award was presented to the combat medic by the battalion commander directly at the place of execution of the tasks,” said the Sambir City Council.
