It is with sadness that we announce the death of our countryman, Senior Sergeant Vasyl Burko, a resident of the village of Stremnia, born in 1973. He served in military unit A1451 in Kharkiv.
On 12 April 2026, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Starytsia in the Kharkiv region, Vasyl, demonstrating resilience and bravery, gave his life for the Motherland. He is survived by his mother, sisters, brothers, wife and son.
The time for the return of the Defender ‘on the shield’ to the community will be announced additionally. Eternal memory and glory to the Hero of Ukraine.
