On November 2, residents of the Sokal community, family, brothers, and friends took the Hero, the Defender of Ukraine, Volodymyr Tomchyshyn to his last journey.
The Hero found eternal rest at the Zhvirki cemetery. The whole community in mourning shares the pain of loss with the Defender’s family.
Our Heroes hold the sky above Ukraine, give their lives for our peaceful life, we must always remember their feat. May the memory of Volodymyr Tomchyshyn’s courage and sacrifice be eternal.

On October 30, the Sokal community received sad news. Our countryman, a resident of the village, died in the war with the occupier. Volodymyr Yaroslavovich Zhvyrka Tomchyshyn, born in 1978.
The sad news was reported in the Sokal city council.
He was a member of the ATO, this year he was called up for military service on March 8, 2022. A true patriot, a faithful son of Ukraine, died from multiple severe wounds received as a result of artillery shelling. He gave his life for our Motherland, for the peaceful life of each of us.
We must always remember at what high cost our soldiers choose victory. The Sokal City Council expresses its deepest condolences to Hero’s mother and three children. Eternal memory to Volodymyr Tomchyshyn, our Hero, who will forever be 44.
