Velykomostivska Community Said Goodbye to Hero Ihor Kupetskyi

Today, the Velykomostivska community bid farewell with deep sorrow to their Hero — Ihor Kupetskyi from the village of Dvirets.

In July 2024, Ihor stood up for Ukraine, having been mobilized into the Armed Forces. On October 24, 2024, communication was lost with him near the settlement of Vesele in the Kursk region. He was considered missing in action. The family lived in hope, prayed, and waited for his return. But, unfortunately, the worst happened.

Today, our Hero returned home for the last time. With honor, with pain, with tears. The community received Ihor in Velyki Mosty, after which the funeral procession moved to his native village. There, in Dvirets, Ihor crossed the threshold of his home for the last time. He bid farewell to the familiar streets, the yard, his relatives, neighbors, and comrades-in-arms. A funeral service was held in the local church, and Ihor was later buried in the village cemetery.

He left behind unspeakable pain, heartache, and a great void. He is survived by his mother and sister with her family. The community bows their heads before the fallen soldier’s family. We thank them for their son, brother, and warrior who went to defend our lives, freedom, and future.

Heroes do not die. They live in our memory, in our hearts, in each peaceful day. Eternal glory and honor to the Defender of Ukraine — Ihor Kupetskyi.
