On November 29, 2022, a resident of the city of Novoyavorivsk Yuriy Mykhailovych Kavchak died while defending his native land.

The memorial service for the deceased Yury will be held on Sunday, December 4, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul – Novoyavorivsk.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. in the church of St. App. Peter and Paul of the Novoyavorivsk UGCC. Yuri will be buried at the local cemetery.
Yuriy Mykhailovych Kavchak was born on October 15, 1980 in the city of Yavoriv. Yury is a graduate of Novoyavoriv School No. 1.
From the first days of the full-scale invasion, as part of the 24th OMBr named after King Danylo, he defended the Ukrainian borders to stop the Russian onslaught.
During the combat mission in Donetsk region, on November 29, 2022, the Russian occupiers cut off the life of Yuriy, who fought for the independence and freedom of our country.
The Hero is survived by his father Mykhailo Evstakhovich, his wife Maryana, and daughter Yevgenia-Anastasia.
