Six servicemen from the Yavoriv district were awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd class.
According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, these awards were posthumously presented to the families of the deceased as a sign of the highest honor for bravery and self-sacrifice in the fight for Ukraine’s independence. The awards were presented by representatives of the Yavoriv RTC and SP. “Among the awardees is our compatriot, a Defender from our community – Roman Pavlovich Shcherbyak, born on July 11, 1983, a native of the village of Radenychi,” the message states. Roman served in military unit A3719 and died on January 31, 2023, due to explosive injuries and other combat wounds during a shooting engagement with the armed forces of the Russian Federation near the village of Bila Hora in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region.
