The Drohobych community is once again in mourning: senior soldier Volodymyr Babii died during a combat mission. He served as a rifleman and crew member in the airborne assault battalion of military unit A2582. According to the command, Volodymyr was noted for his high level of motivation and decisiveness in carrying out tasks, and commanded undeniable respect within the unit.
On 4 January 2024, Volodymyr fell in the area of the village of Verbove, Polohy district. The city mayor Taras Kuchma and council secretary Orest Karakevych express their sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
Tomorrow, 13 May, the body of this Hero will arrive in his hometown of Drohobych. The meeting of the funeral cortege will commence at 12:30 at the Heroes’ Crossroads, after which the procession will proceed to Rynok Square, where a city-wide farewell will be held at 13:00. The funeral service will be conducted at 13:30 in the Holy Trinity Church, after which Volodymyr will be buried at the cemetery on Pylypa Orlyka Street. Volodymyr Babii will be remembered as a true patriot.
