Volunteer Aid from the UK and Canada for Ukraine
Yesterday, the Lviv region hosted over 40 high-level foreign delegations. We saw how Europe can come together. And today we see what unity looks like in practice. It is forged by ordinary people with extraordinary faith in our country.
⚡⚡Nearly 90 volunteers from the UK and Canada arrived in our region to personally deliver 46 SUVs for Ukrainian defenders.
The ‘Pickups for Peace’ Initiative
This is already the twentieth such convoy as part of the initiative by British farmer Mark Laird, ‘Pickups for Peace’. This time, vehicles were handed over to defenders from the 24th Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, the 150th Separate Mechanized Brigade, National Guard units, and other combat units.
✅ As part of this convoy, volunteers also delivered generators, spare tires, medical supplies, two ambulances with valuable medical equipment for St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital and the Superhumans Center medical center. Additionally, they provided humanitarian aid to one of the orphanages.
Overall, more than 900 volunteers from different countries around the world have joined the ‘Pickups for Peace’ initiative. They are citizens of the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, the Netherlands, and Sweden. People of various nationalities, professions, and ages united by a common goal – to help Ukraine withstand and win.
Sincere thanks to Mark Laird for your ability to unite others around what truly matters. It is the cohesion and determination of ordinary people that inspire governments and politicians to act.
A deep bow to our warriors for giving us the State. We will stand firm! 🇨🇦🇬🇧🤝🇺🇦
