Today, the Velykomostivska community remembers its Defender — Yuriy Pentsak, who was killed in the battles for Ukraine. Yuriy was born on 22 June 1991 in the village of Kupychvolia, where he spent his childhood and youth. In 2009, he graduated from the Stavropihian Vocational Lyceum.
After completing his conscription service in military unit T0500, Yuriy worked at a cardboard and paper factory in Lviv. In 2015, he was mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he participated in combat operations in the east of the country. After demobilisation in 2016, Yuriy returned to civilian life.
With the onset of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Yuriy once again joined the ranks of the Armed Forces, serving in the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade. From 1 April 2022, he was considered missing in action during a combat mission in the Luhansk region.
His family, friends, and the entire community cherish the memory of the brave Defender who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. Eternal memory to you, Yuriy.
