At Christmas time, the Drohobytsk community was shaken by sad news – Volodymyr Vasylykyv, a resident of Drohobytsky, who courageously defended his native country from the enemy, died during the defense of Ukraine from the enemy.
Volodymyr Vasylikov was born on July 26, 1987. Lived in Drohobych on Plastuniv Street. He graduated from Secondary School No. 8, later – Drohobytsk Mechanical and Technological College.
Worked at Ukrtelecom. In the last few years, he traveled abroad for work. During the full-scale invasion, he returned from abroad and worked for some time in Sambor
Volodymyr joined the ranks of defenders on September 6, 2023. Drohobychany defended Ukraine as part of a separate machine gun unit of the 214th separate special OPFOR battalion of military unit A-4574 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Unfortunately, on December 23, a resident of Drohobych died, having received a severe shrapnel wound as a result of an attack by enemy drones on the Bakhmut direction of the front.
Among his relatives, the deceased left his sister, brother-in-law, nephews.
The Drohobytsk City Council, its executive committee, Mayor Taras Kuchma and Council Secretary Orest Karakevich express their sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and relatives regarding the death of our compatriot and Hero – Volodymyr Vasylykiv.

The meeting of the mourning convoy at the Crossroads of Heroes will take place tomorrow, December 26, at 1:30 p.m. At 14:00, a city-wide farewell will be held on Rynok Square.
A memorial service for the fallen Hero will be held at his family home on Plastuniv Street at 6:00 p.m. The funeral will begin the next day, December 27, at 11:30 a.m. from the deceased’s home. The cortege will go to the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God in the village of Dobrivlyany, where the funeral rite will continue.
The Hero will be buried at the cemetery in the village of Dobrivlyany.
