Resident of the town of Turka Ivan Pavlyk, who had been considered missing in action since spring 2025 during a combat mission near the settlement of Andriivka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, has been killed. His death was officially confirmed on 24 September 2026 on the basis of a DNA examination.
According to available information, the serviceman was killed in the combat zone on 21 March 2025 while carrying out his military duty. He served as a rifleman of the 3rd rifle squad, 2nd rifle platoon, 6th rifle company, 2nd rifle battalion of military unit A4594.
Following the soldier’s disappearance, his family, comrades-in-arms and residents of the community had long hoped for news that he was alive and for the defender’s possible return home. However, the examination results confirmed his death.
Turka Town Council reports that, together with the community, it extends its condolences to the serviceman’s relatives, loved ones and comrades-in-arms and shares in the pain of this loss.
The date and time of the return of the fallen serviceman’s body to the town of Turka, as well as details of the funeral service, will be announced in due course.
