Two Air Raid Alerts in Lviv Region on August 4 Due to MiG-31K Launches

On the morning of August 4, 2025, air raid alerts were issued across Ukraine, including the Lviv region, due to detected takeoffs of MiG-31K fighter jets. Lviv Regional Administration Head Maksym Kozytskyi shared the updates via social media.

Timeline of Events:

  • 08:56 AM — A MiG-31K was detected taking off. These jets can carry Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. An air raid alert was declared nationwide.

  • 09:38 AM — Kozytskyi announced that the situation in the Lviv region remained calm at that time.

  • 10:03 AM — A second MiG-31K takeoff was recorded, prompting another air raid alert.

  • 10:29 AM — The air raid alert was officially lifted.

Authorities urged residents to take air raid warnings seriously, as the Kinzhal missiles are exceptionally fast and difficult to intercept.

Within just one hour on the morning of August 4, two air alerts were declared in the Lviv region due to the potential missile threat posed by MiG-31K jets. No critical incidents occurred, thanks to swift responses and public adherence to safety protocols.
