A sad news has once again shaken the Radekhiv community.
On September 9, 2025, dedicated to the Military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people, bravely fulfilling his military duty, in the battle for Ukraine, its freedom and independence, in the Donetsk region, our compatriot, resident of the village of Dmytriv, soldier Ivan Vasilyevich Melnychuk, born 04.08.1986, died. Until October 29, 2025, the Warrior was considered missing, but the results of the DNA examination confirmed his death.
The Radekhiv City Council and the entire community deeply mourn the death of the Defender. “We express our sincere condolences to Ivan’s family, close ones, friends, and comrades. The bright memory of the Hero will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew, loved, and respected him.”
The cortege with the body of the fallen Defender will meet tomorrow, 31.10.2025, at 11:00 am. Residents of Radekhiv are requested to come out to the Heavenly Hundred Memorial and along Lvivska Street to the Symbolic Tomb of the Fighters for Ukraine’s Freedom (intersection of Obizna and Lvivska Streets), creating a live corridor to pay tribute and honorably escort the Warrior on his final journey to his native home in the village of Dmytriv, where the funeral service will take place immediately.
