The Sheptytska community mourns the loss of 23-year-old Yevhen Vasylovych Vysotskyi — a senior sergeant and border guard inspector who served as a driver of the fire squad at the border mortar outpost of military unit No. 2144.
Yevhen was killed on January 8, 2024, while performing a combat mission near the village of Mykilske in the Kharkiv region. He gave his life defending Ukraine’s freedom and sovereignty.
The Sheptytska City Council extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and comrades of the fallen soldier. The community shares in the sorrow of this irreparable loss and bows its head in mourning.
Yevhen Vysotskyi will be remembered as a courageous defender and true patriot. It is our duty to honor the memory of heroes like him and remember the high price of independence and peace.
