
Once again, sorrow has come to the Sokal region as the community mourns the loss of another brave defender — 27-year-old Taras Volodymyrovych Yaremko, a resident of the village of Bobiatyn.
On August 1, 2024, during combat operations near the settlement of New York in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region, Taras lost his life while serving as a senior driver and radio telegraphist in the rifle battalion of military unit A-0536. He was considered missing for some time, but his death was later officially confirmed.
Taras Yaremko was born in the village of Kupychiv in the Turiisk district of Volyn region. He studied at the Bobiatyn general education school (grades I–II), later continuing his studies at Kamianka-Buzka Lyceum.
He was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 16, 2023, and served honorably until his final day.
The community extends sincere condolences to his sister Hanna, brother-in-law Taras, niece Maria, and nephew Vasyl. The loss is deep and irreparable for the family and loved ones.
The ceremony to receive the body of Taras Yaremko will take place on Wednesday, June 12, at 3:00 PM near the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. A mourning procession will then proceed to the village of Bobiatyn, where a memorial service (parastas) will be held in his family home.
The funeral will be held on June 13 at 2:00 PM in Bobiatyn.
