Fifth Family Member Dies After Russian Missile Strike on Lapaivka, Lviv Region

A fifth member of a family whose home was destroyed by a Russian missile on October 5 has died in the village of Lapaivka, Lviv region. The man, who had sustained critical injuries, passed away on October 11.

Who Was the Victim?

According to the Zymnovodivska village council, the deceased was Vitalii Mykhailovych Konstantynov, born on January 7, 1979. He succumbed to his injuries six days after the missile strike.

Earlier, four other family members had been confirmed dead:

  • Liuba Konstantynova (b. 1957)

  • Mykhailo Konstantynov (b. 1953)

  • Uliana Konstantynova (b. 1985)

  • Anastasiia Hrytsiv (b. 2010)

They were buried on October 7 and 8 in the villages of Zymna Voda and Mshana, respectively.

Details of the Attack

  • On the night of October 5, a Russian missile struck a private home in Lapaivka.

  • All five family members inside were killed.

  • The youngest victim was 15-year-old Anastasiia Hrytsiv, a 10th-grade student who had just turned 15 on August 26.

According to the Horodok community, Anastasiia and her mother Uliana were originally from Mshana. Uliana’s in-laws also perished in the attack.

Following the tragedy, Anastasiia’s father arrived in Lviv region.

In total, four people died and eight were injured in the Lviv region as a result of the October 5 missile strike. Vitalii Konstantynov became the fifth fatality when he died later from his injuries.
