Defender from the Lviv region Oleh Bilka has been recognised with a state award. The soldier received the Knight's Cross medal in accordance with an order of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Oleh Bilka voluntarily joined the ranks of Ukraine's defenders in 2022. He initially served in the 53rd Separate Rifle Battalion, and since the beginning of 2023 he has been fighting as part of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.
During his service, the serviceman has been wounded and concussed on multiple occasions, yet each time he returned to his unit and continued to carry out combat missions.
The Knight's Cross medal was presented to the defender by the head of the Sheptytsky District State Administration, Andriy Dyachenko.
