A ceremonial event was held at the Drohobych District Military Administration to present posthumous military awards to the families of fallen defenders of Ukraine from Drohobych district.
In accordance with the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for personal courage, selflessness, loyalty to the military oath and demonstrated heroism in the defence of Ukraine, two servicemen were posthumously awarded the “Combatant’s Cross” and the breast badge “Honour and Remembrance”.
Oleh Bormachenko was honoured posthumously; the awards on his behalf were received by his wife Olha and his son Demian. Volodymyr Huk was posthumously decorated, and the award was presented to his mother Maria.
The Drohobych District Military Administration stressed that these distinctions are a sign of gratitude and remembrance for the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine’s independence.
