With deep sorrow, we report the tragic loss of another young Hero from Sokal.
On January 13, 2025, around 1:40 a.m., during a combat mission in the Sverdlikove area of Kursk Region, an FPV drone strike claimed the life of Sergeant Taras Oleh Polischuk, born in 1994. Taras served as a machine gunner in the 2nd Assault Division, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Assault Company of Military Unit A7400.
A native of the village of Velyke in the Sokal community, Taras was a brave and devoted defender of Ukraine. Full of energy and dreams, he remained loyal to his military oath until the very end. Sadly, his life was cut short by war.
The Sokal City Council extends heartfelt condolences to his mother Olena, stepfather Mykhailo, wife Anna, sister Lyudmyla, and the entire grieving family.
