Vasyl Yaremko Posthumously Awarded the Title of Hero of Ukraine
The defender from Lviv region, Vasyl Yaremko, was posthumously awarded the high state honor by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was announced by the head of Lviv Regional Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.
Honoring the Memory of the Hero
As noted by the head of the region, the Decree awarding the title Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the ‘Golden Star’ was signed by the President on December 11, 2024, and today the award was personally handed to the defender’s wife Myroslava and son Zakhar.
🕯️Vasyl Yaremko ‘Yaryj’ originated from the village of Krotoshyn in the Davydiv community. He was the commander of the 2nd unit ‘White Demons’ 49th Separate Assault Brigade ‘Carpathian Sich’. He participated in the defense of Virnopillia, the assault on Dmytrivka, Komyshuvakha, and Topolske, operations in Izyum in the Kharkiv region, assault on the northern flank of the Lyman operation in Donetsk region, liberation of the settlement of Terny, offensive operations, and battles for Makiivka.
Unfortunately, the commander died on January 25, 2024, in the settlement of Makiivka, Svatove district, Luhansk region. We remember the Hero. Eternal glory and memory.
