Another Ukrainian soldier from Lviv region has returned home after being held in Russian captivity. The freed defender is Ivan Ivanchyshyn, a resident of Bolekhivtsi village in Drohobych district.
According to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Ivan joined Ukraine’s defense forces in March 2022. He served in the National Guard as a grenadier. In September 2023, during a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia sector, he was captured by Russian forces.
Kozytskyi welcomed his return with words of gratitude:
“Ivan, heartfelt congratulations on your return! Thank you and your comrades for your courage and dedicated service. Wishing you strong health and a swift recovery.”
