A defender from Yavoriv district was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi

Unfortunately, posthumously.

Andrii Pryshliak, a soldier from Mostyska district, was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, III class (posthumously) for personal courage in the defence of Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and selfless performance of military duty. The award was presented to the Hero’s family yesterday, 1 October.

Andriy Pryshlyak was born on 13 July 1993 in Mostyska. During the full-scale invasion, he took the oath of allegiance and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of the 3rd parachute platoon.

Loyal to the military oath and the Ukrainian people, he died on 18 November 2023 while defending Ukraine from the enemy, courageously performing his military duty.

Also on the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the “Space of Heroes of Ukraine” was opened at the Dobrostan gymnasium. The memory corner contains portraits and photographs of the Heroes who studied and lived here, and especially valuable are the boxes with personal belongings that the Defenders used and cherished. This space is intended not only to honour the memory but also to become a source of inspiration for future generations.

The opening ceremony was attended by relatives of the victims, the leadership of the Novoyavoriv City Council, students and teachers of the gymnasium.
