Ivan Kurtianyk, a defender from the Slavske community, was awarded the Order of Courage, III class. Unfortunately, posthumously.
In accordance with a decree of the President of Ukraine, Ivan Kurtianyk, a resident of the village of Grabovets, call sign “Santa”, was awarded an honorary badge.
Ivan Kurtianyk joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. He served in the 46th Battalion of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo.
He died on 2 January 2023 in the battle for the city of Soledar in Donetsk region. The man was 51 years old.
Earlier, the soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of the Hero’s Cross.
