Fallen Heroes Dmitro Permyakov, Stepan Levandovsky, and Vitaliy Slovik: Farewell Ceremony in Lviv on January 15

Tomorrow, January 15, Lviv will pay its respects to three servicemen — Dmitro Permyakov, Stepan Levandovsky, and Vitaliy Slovik, who lost their lives defending Ukraine against Russian aggression. The city administration urges residents and visitors to join the farewell ceremony and refrain from organizing entertainment events during this time.

Farewell Ceremony and Burial
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. A citywide ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Rynok Square. The fallen heroes will be laid to rest at Lychakiv Cemetery.


Biographies of the Defenders

Dmitro Permyakov (March 8, 1976 – January 9, 2025)
Born in Zaporizhzhia, Dmitro Permyakov graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Air Forces. A colonel with 30 years of military experience, he excelled in leadership roles, from unit commander to head of a military unit. He developed effective systems for using drones in combat and was decorated with multiple honors, including the “Cross of Military Honor.” Dmitro is survived by his mother, wife, two sons, and other relatives.


Stepan Levandovsky (September 15, 1987 – January 9, 2025)
Stepan Levandovsky from Lviv served in the 101st Independent Brigade of the General Staff and later joined the special police battalion “KORD.” He was passionate about cooking and cherished his family. He leaves behind his parents, wife, and two daughters.


Vitaliy Slovik (December 27, 1994 – January 4, 2025)
A native of Lviv, Vitaliy Slovik earned a master’s degree in telecommunications and radio engineering from Lviv Polytechnic University. He served in the police force and was active in sports. Vitaliy was killed during his third combat mission. He is survived by his wife, mother, grandmothers, and other family members.


The Lviv City Council urges everyone to honor the memory of these brave soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom.
