Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to three defenders of Ukraine

On Monday, 9 September, Lviv will say goodbye to three soldiers. Oleksandr Borysov, Ruslan Osaulets and Petro Lopushynskyi were killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. The mayor’s office calls on residents to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony for the defenders will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, followed by a city farewell ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Rynok Square.

The soldiers will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

He studied at Donetsk Educational Complex No. 91. Subsequently, he entered Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O. Didorenko, where he studied law.

He worked as a lawyer at Joint Stock Company First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB), where he was awarded the title of Best Employee of 2020. In his spare time, Oleksandr Borisov enjoyed playing the guitar, running and hiking, and loved spending time with his family.

He was a supporter of the ideas of the Youth Nationalist Congress and took an active part in the education of patriotic youth. He was also a member of the Ukrainian Legion NGO, where he received military training.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he and his like-minded colleagues stood up to defend their homeland from the occupiers. He defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state as a member of the military unit A4788 of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Borysov is survived by his mother, wife, young daughter and brother.

He received his vocational education as a gas and electric welder at Horlivka Vocational Technical School No. 55. After graduation, he worked in his field for a long time.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, he stood up to defend Ukraine as part of the 80th separate Galician Air Assault Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ruslan Osaulets is survived by his family and friends.

He studied at the secondary school No. 72 in Lviv. Lviv. He received the profession of a shoe upper fabricator at Vocational School No. 31 (today – Lviv Vocational College of Beauty and Fashion Industry). After graduation, he did his military service.

He worked in his speciality at a local private enterprise. In his spare time, he was fond of sewing and gardening. He actively played football, loved fishing and outdoor activities.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the military unit A4220 to defend the state from the invaders. He fought against the invaders in the eastern direction and was awarded numerous decorations for his conscientious performance of combat missions.

Petro Lopushynskyi is survived by two sons.
