Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defender Ivan Kvitka, a graduate of Chervonohrad boarding school

On Tuesday, March 26, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Ivan Kvitka, who was killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine.

Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

The defender’s biographical information

Ivan Kvitka (13.02.1994-15.03.2024) was a resident of Lviv.

At an early age, he lost his parents, so he spent his childhood in the walls of the Chervonohrad boarding school. Here he received a complete secondary education.

After graduating from the 11th grade, he entered the State Educational Institution “Stavropigian Higher Vocational School of Lviv” and received a degree in carpentry.

Throughout his life, he worked in various fields, and during the last period – at the wholesale market of agricultural products “Shuvar”. He loved plants, admired the work of Ukrainian singer Iryna Fedyshyn and attended all her concerts. According to his friends and acquaintances, he was “a kind, cheerful and cheerful person, always coming to the aid of others.”

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the occupiers. At first, he performed combat missions in the ranks of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade, and later joined the 103rd separate territorial defense brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended the state in the Kharkiv region.

Ivan Kvitka is survived by his friends, colleagues and comrades-in-arms.
