Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defender Ivan Nakonechny

On Friday, November 24, Lviv will say goodbye to serviceman Ivan Nakonechny, who died at the hands of the Russian invaders while defending Ukraine. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The serviceman’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Ivan Nakonechnyi (March 20, 1988-November 17, 2023) from Lviv.

He studied at the “Oriyana” Lyceum of the Lviv City Council. Received higher education at the National Forestry University of Ukraine.

After completing his studies, he changed several jobs, during the last period he worked as a security guard at the Limited Liability Company “Kran-Resource”.

He was an extremely calm person, always trying to help those who needed it. In his free time, he was fond of computer technology.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he constantly tried to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, worrying about the fate of the state. In July 2023, despite his lack of military experience and unsatisfactory health, he became a member of the 108th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” of the Land Operational Command “West” to defend the Motherland from the Russian invaders troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state on the territory of Kharkiv region and Donetsk region.

Ivan Nakonechny is survived by his parents, sister, brother and nephew.
