Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defender Taras Skalsky from Lviv

On Friday, October 20, Lviv will say goodbye to military serviceman Taras Skalsky, who died at the hands of the Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The serviceman’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Taras Skalskyi (September 14, 1984-October 13, 2023) from Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 91 of Lviv. He was educated at the Vocational and Technical School No. 31 (today – the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Household Services”).

After completing his studies, he worked as a consultant at the Limited Liability Company “Desyatka”, later he held the position of storekeeper at the Limited Liability Company “Ardor-Trade”. In his spare time, he was fond of football, and was a devoted fan of the Karpaty football club.

Taras Skalskyi was an exceptionally kind and calm person, always ready to help everyone.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. After training in Estonia, he defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the Kharkiv region.

Taras Skalsky is survived by his parents, sister, brother-in-law and two nephews.
