Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defender Mykhailo Turchyn

On Sunday, September 24, Lviv will say goodbye to serviceman Mykhailo Turchyn, who died at the hands of the Russian occupier while defending Ukraine. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The serviceman’s funeral will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 10:45 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 96 of the city of Lviv. He received his education at the Separate Structural Unit “Educational and Scientific Institute of Entrepreneurship and Advanced Technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic National University”.

After completing his studies, he worked as a bartender and adored his work, he successfully completed international bartending courses. Later, he went abroad, where he worked in the field of logistics. In his free time, he was fond of music, and was an extremely loyal friend.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, despite the lack of military experience, he returned from Poland and volunteered to defend the Motherland. After completing the training, he defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the ranks of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed the duties of chief sergeant-commander of the department. Mykhailo Turchyn was awarded the rank of “junior sergeant” for conscientious performance of combat missions.

The Hero is survived by his grandmother, parents and brother with his wife.
