Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defender Oleksiy Zuichenko

On Friday, September 22, Lviv will say goodbye to serviceman Oleksiy Zuichenko, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The serviceman’s funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 2:30 p.m. a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the local cemetery in Sokilnyky.

He studied at General Secondary School No. 1 in the city of Gulyaipole (today it is the Communal Institution “Relegation Institution of General Secondary Education “Prestige” of the Gulyaipil City Council). He was educated at the former Zaporizhia Mechanical Engineering Institute.

In 2004, together with his family, he moved to Transcarpathia and lived in the village of Zavydovo. Later, he served in military service in the amphibious assault troops in Khmelnytskyi.

After completing his service, he worked in the construction industry in the city of Lviv. He was fond of music, had an exceptional singing talent.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation joined the ranks of territorial defense. Subsequently, he served in the 61st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksiy Zuychenko is survived by his mother and 15-year-old son.
