Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defender Roman Lepish

On Thursday, 12 September, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Roman Lepish, who was killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine.

The mayor’s office calls on residents to join the city’s funeral ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, followed by a citywide farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Roman Lepish will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.

Roman Lepish (24.11.1983-05.09.2024) was a resident of Lviv.

He studied at the secondary school №63 in Lviv. Lviv and Lyceum No. 70 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the Lviv National University of Environmental Management with a degree in fruit and vegetable growing.

Most recently, he worked as a storekeeper at a local enterprise. In his spare time, he was fond of mushroom picking and loved the outdoors.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the state from Russian invaders. He performed tasks to defend the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine in Donetsk region in the ranks of the 100th separate territorial defence brigade of the regional directorate “West” of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Roman Lepish is survived by his parents, wife, son and two brothers.
