Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defender Volodymyr Hrinchenko

On Friday, 23 February, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Volodymyr Hrinchenko, who was killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s funeral ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Peter and Paul, and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Holoskiv cemetery.

He studied at Lyceum №46 named after Vyacheslav Chornovil of the Lviv City Council. Subsequently, he entered the Separate Structural Subdivision “Technical and Economic Specialist College of Lviv Polytechnic National University” and received a degree in Heat and Power Engineering.

He did his military service in the military unit A1827, and after completing it, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state in the ranks of the 93rd separate mechanised brigade “Kholodnyi Yar” of the operational command “East” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions on the Liman and Bakhmut directions.

Volodymyr Hrinchenko is survived by his parents, brother and fiancée.
