Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Andrii Muravskyi and Valerii Golenkov

Tomorrow, February 16, Lviv will say goodbye to two more Heroes. Andriy Muravskyi and Valery Golenkov died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes
Andriy Muravskyi (18.01.1972-07.02.2023) native of Lviv.

 

He studied at the Lviv secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 7 of the Lviv City Council. Graduated from the former Lviv Medical School. After completing his studies, he served in the military in the city of Perechyn (Transcarpathian region).

In peacetime, he worked as a dental technician in the city polyclinic, later he started making furniture. He was fond of archery, at a young age he participated in shooting competitions.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the invaders. Defended the territorial integrity and independence of the state as part of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Andriy Muravskyi is survived by his parents, wife, four children, grandson, brother and sister.

Valery Golenkov (“Kalyna”) (25.02.1972-02.02.2023) Lviv native.

He studied at the Lviv secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 7 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the Separate Structural Unit “Technological Vocational College of the State Higher Educational Institution “National Forestry University of Ukraine”. Engaged in freestyle wrestling.

During 1990-1992, he served in the military in the city of Myrhorod, Poltava region.

Police captain. He worked in the internal affairs bodies in the city of Lviv.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, despite the status of a person with a disability, he joined the ranks of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the “West” Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died saving his brother.

Valery Golenkov is survived by his mother, wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, brother and two grandchildren.
