Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Andrii Patrayk and Viktor Petrov

On Saturday, June 3, Lviv will say goodbye to two Heroes. Andrii Patrayko and Viktor Petrov died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

He studied at the Secondary Comprehensive School No. 13, the Private School-gymnasium “Evryka”, later he entered the Lyceum “Oriyana” of the Lviv City Council. Graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of Ivan Franko Lviv National University. He graduated from the military department of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny, majoring in “Intelligence”, where he earned the rank of “junior lieutenant”.

In peacetime, he worked at a branch of Nestle Ukraine LLC and Softserv LLC, then began his career at the Institute of Social Initiatives Youth NGO. He was the editor of the publication “Sikhiv Media”, co-founder, producer and creative manager of “WHAT IF creative studio”.

He led a healthy lifestyle and was an exceptionally versatile person: he organized “Lvivska Sotka” bike marathons, participated in hikes and quest-runs, earned a blue belt in jiu-jitsu and a black belt in aikido. He was engaged in rock climbing, snowboarding, and was fond of photography. He took care of cancer patients, actively cooperated with the charity foundation “With an angel on my shoulders”.

Having an exceptional sense of duty to protect the Motherland, he joined the ranks of the 54th separate mechanized brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa of the operational command “East” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his service, he received the rank of “lieutenant”. As a platoon commander, he intensively studied military affairs and considered it his “best project.” Before his death, he served as a company commander and had more than 100 servicemen under his command, who respected him immensely.

Viktor Petrov is survived by his parents, grandmother, uncle, aunt, cousins and nephews.

Studied at the Lviv Secondary School of the I-III grades #82 of the Lviv City Council of the Lviv Region. Graduated from the former Vocational and Technical School No. 53.

Since 1991, he has been working at LLC “Joint Ukrainian-Canadian Enterprise “Mist-Tour”. Subsequently, he was in the service of the internal affairs bodies, and since 2000 he worked abroad.

In 2013, he returned to the Motherland to defend the interests of citizens on Independence Square. Then he performed combat missions in the anti-terrorist operation zone as part of the Dnipro-1 volunteer regiment.

After returning to civilian life, he actively engaged in volunteer activities.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he voluntarily returned to the Armed Forces, fought with the Russian occupiers in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Andriy Patraik is survived by his father, wife, three sons, daughter, granddaughter, sister, nephews and nieces.
