Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Hryhoriy Leonov and Pyotr Krasutsky

Tomorrow, March 15, Lviv will say goodbye to Hryhoriy Leonov and Pyotr Krasutsky, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Hryhoriy Leonov (30.03.1966-09.03.2023). A native of the city of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia region. He lived with his family in Berdyansk.
He studied at the General Secondary Education Institution No. 4 of the Tokmak City Council. He graduated from Mykhailo Petrovych Drahomanov National Pedagogical University.

In 2014, he began chaplaincy as part of the 1st Ukrainian Battalion of Military Chaplains (Southern Region). He pastored near the settlements of Pisky, Maryinka and Svitlodarsk, and was also involved in the transportation of humanitarian goods for the needs of the Ukrainian military. At the same time, he took care of the Chernihiv Children’s Boarding Home in the village of Kalynivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he and his family were forced to leave Berdyansk. Despite his unsatisfactory state of health, he was actively engaged in volunteer transportation to Siversk, Lysychansk, Soledar, Bakhmut, Popasnaya, Krasnohorivka and others, and at the same time carried out pastoral work in these places.

Served in the ranks of the 501st Separate Marine Battalion of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilinskyi of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For personal bravery, he was awarded the “Badge of Honor” badge of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Grigory Leonov is survived by his wife and son.

 

 

 

Petro Krasutskyi (27.02.1978-11.03.2023). A native of the city of Vinnyki, Lviv region.
He studied at the Communal Institution of the Lviv Regional Council “Vynnykiv General Educational Sanatorium School of I-III Degrees”. Subsequently, he obtained a professional and technical education. After completing his studies, he served in military service in Chornomorsk (Odesa region).

He worked abroad in Spain, after his return – at the Limited Liability Company “LisGal”.

During 2014-2015, he performed combat missions in the area of the anti-terrorist operation as part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For personal courage, he was awarded the “Defender of the Fatherland” medal and the “For participation in an anti-terrorist operation” award.

After being wounded, he returned to civilian life and worked at the Bristol enterprise.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he returned to the ranks of the 80th Brigade of the Armed Forces. He was wounded a second time while performing a combat mission.

Petr Krasutsky is survived by his wife and two daughters.
