Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Maksym Vasylkevych, Volodymyr Vovko, Taras Khudas

On Thursday, January 12, Lviv will say goodbye to three more Heroes. Maksym Vasylkevych, Volodymyr Vovk, Taras Khudash died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

Maxim Vasylkevich (23.02.1994-02.01.2023). A native of Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 98 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the Separate Structural Unit “Technical Vocational College of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”, acquired the profession of “radio mechanic”.

Worked abroad in the construction industry.

For three years, he performed combat missions in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he returned from abroad and voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought against the occupiers as part of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after Colonel-General Mark Bezruchka of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Maksym Vasylkevych is survived by his parents, three brothers, a sister and a niece.

Volodymyr Vovk (January 9, 1977-December 28, 2022). He was born in Prague (Czech Republic) in the family of a military man. Later, the family moved to Lviv.
He studied at the former school No. 14 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational Polytechnic School”. After completing his studies, he served in the military in the Odesa region.

In peacetime, he worked at a gas station.

In 2019, he volunteered to defend the Motherland, performed combat missions in the area of Operation United Forces.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after Colonel-General Mark Bezruchka of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Vovka is survived by his father, sister, wife and two sons.

Taras Khudash (14.10.1987-02.01.2023). A native of Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 55 of Lviv. Graduated from the Lviv Higher Professional School of Food Technologies. In peacetime, he worked in the construction industry abroad. He was fond of free wrestling.

On the first day of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he returned from abroad to defend the Motherland. He defended its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the ranks of the 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the “North” Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He fought with the Russian occupiers in the “hot spots”, for his personal bravery he was awarded the medal “For assistance to the military intelligence of Ukraine” II degree.

Taras Khudas is survived by his parents, wife, son and two daughters.
