Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Maryan Holovaty and Andrii Nezhura

Tomorrow, January 28, Lviv will say goodbye to two more Heroes. Maryan Holovaty and Andrii Nezhura died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

Maryan Holovatyy (24.08.1989-18.01.2023) was born in the village of Styborivka, Lviv Region.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 97 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the Faculty of Geography of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, majoring in “environmental protection management”. In 2016, he obtained the scientific degree “Candidate of Sciences”.

After completing his studies, he joined the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Worked at Concern Galnaftogaz Joint Stock Company. In his spare time, he was fond of coin collecting and mountain tourism. He was an active member of the Borets Public Organization.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the Motherland from the invaders. He fought against the terrorist state in the southern and eastern directions in the ranks of the 24th brigade.

Maryan Holovaty is survived by his parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece.

Andrii Nezhura (June 27, 1993-January 16, 2023) from Lviv.
He studied at Lyceum No. 51 named after Ivan Franko of the Lviv City Council. Graduated from the former Vocational and Technical School No. 56.

After completing his studies, he completed military service. Subsequently, he decided to sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In peacetime, he worked in the construction field at a local private enterprise.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he went to war as a volunteer. He fought against the Russian invaders in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Andrii Nezhura is survived by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
