Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Oleksandr Platonov and Serhii Noflik

On Monday, May 22, Lviv will say goodbye to two Heroes. Oleksandr Platonov and Serhii Noflik defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Oleksandr Platonov (23.07.1991-15.05.2023) native of Lviv.
Studied at Lyceum No. 21 of the Lviv City Council. After finishing school, he studied at the former Lviv Culinary School.

In peacetime, he worked at Nova Poshta LLC, later as a sales manager at a local private enterprise. Loved music, was fond of information technologies. He took care of his old mother.

Despite the lack of military experience, in the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the Motherland. Performed combat tasks in the ranks of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade named after the basket chief Ivan Sirk of the operational command “East” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Platonov is survived by an uncle, an aunt and a cousin.

Serhiy Noflik (10.11.1975-14.05.2023) Born in the city of Sevastopol.
He studied at school No. 117 in the city of Vugledar, Donetsk region. Graduated from Volnova Vocational Technical School. After completing his studies, he served in the military.

He worked as a miner in Ugledar for 12 years. In his spare time, he was fond of technology and cars.

In 2015-2016, he performed combat missions in the area of the anti-terrorist operation.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he and his family moved to Lviv and volunteered to defend the Motherland in the ranks of the 65th separate mechanized brigade of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Serhii Noflik is survived by his parents and two daughters.
