Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Roman Peleh and Yuriy Pyrizhko

On Tuesday, May 9, Lviv will say goodbye to two more Heroes. Roman Peleh and Yurii Pyrizhok died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

Roman Peleh (07.01.1964-03.05.2023) native of Lviv.
He studied at a local boarding school, where he was actively involved in athletics. Received a professional and technical education in the specialty “mechanical engineering”. After completing his studies, he served in the military.

He worked at the former Lviv Bus Plant, later at construction companies. He was fond of fishing, loved active recreation.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he volunteered to go to war from the first days. Fought against the Russian occupiers as part of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Roman Peleh is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.

Yuriy Pyrizhok (April 30, 1984-May 5, 2023) from Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 95 in the city of Lviv. After completing his studies, he served in the military in Lutsk. He received his education at the Faculty of Economics of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

In peacetime, he worked at the Communal Non-Commercial Enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Regional Information and Analytical Center of Medical Statistics”. He was fond of cycling, led an active lifestyle.

During 2014-2015, he performed combat missions in the area of the anti-terrorist operation as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For personal courage, he was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “For Exemplary in Military Service” of the 2nd degree.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he defended the Motherland from the invaders. He defended the territorial integrity and independence of the state in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yuriy is survived by his mother, sister, a large loving family and numerous friends.
