Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Andrii Shpak

Tomorrow, March 21, Lviv will say goodbye to Andriy Shpak, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders.

The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Andrii Shpak (March 4, 1973-January 8, 2023). A native of Lviv.
Studied at Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko Secondary School of I-III degrees No. 44 and Lyceum No. 21 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the former Lviv Vocational School No. 26.

After completing his studies, he served in the tank troops in the city of Berdychiv.

In peacetime, he worked as an electrician at a maintenance station, later at the Borys Voznytskyi Lviv National Art Gallery. During the last period, he was engaged in private entrepreneurship in the construction field. He was fond of boxing.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 4th separate tank brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky of the Reserve Corps of Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland.

Andriy Shpak is survived by his son, brother and aunt with their family.
