Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Dmytro Demsky

Tomorrow, May 1, Lviv will say goodbye to Dmytro Demsky, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Dmytro Demskyi (08.11.1985-24.04.2023) native of Lviv. Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 92 of the city of Lviv. He was educated at the former Lviv Railway Transport Technical School.

In peacetime, he worked in Lviv and abroad in the construction field. He was fond of fishing, played football and judo at an early age, and especially loved animals. He adored spending time with children, was exceptionally talented in the matter of managing the economy.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he returned to the Motherland and volunteered to join the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state as part of the 14th brigade of the operational assignment named after Ivan Bohun of the Western operational-territorial association of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Dmytro Demsky is survived by his mother, wife, two sons, sister, cousins, numerous relatives and friends.
