On Tuesday, July 11, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Hryhoriy Barchyshyn, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.
The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 15:30 there will be a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Hryhoriy Barchyshyn (April 3, 1986–May 21, 2023)
Hryhoriy Barchyshyn (04/03/1986–05/21/2023) Studied at secondary comprehensive school No. 73 in Lviv.
Graduated from Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture. Subsequently, he obtained an education at the Lviv University of Trade and Economics, majoring in “marketing” and “law”.
He was a player of the football clubs “Karpaty-2”, “Obolon” and “Chaika”. He worked in the former Main Territorial Administration of Justice in the Lviv Region.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the military unit A7376 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. Carrying out combat tasks in the eastern direction, he also evacuated wounded comrades.
Hryhoriy Barchyshyn is survived by his wife, son, parents and brother.
