Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Oleg Voytiuk

Tomorrow, February 21, Lviv will say goodbye to Oleg Voytyuk, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Oleg Voytiuk (June 8, 1976-February 13, 2023). A native of the village of Boratyn, Rivne region.

He studied at the Dovgaliv secondary school of grades I-III of the Rivne region. In 1998, he graduated from the Lviv National University of Nature Management, majoring in mechanical engineering.

After completing his studies, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk.

In peacetime, he worked as an operator’s assistant at West Petrol Market Limited Liability Company. He was fond of fishing.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the invaders. Defended the state in the ranks of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the “West” Regional Administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions in the eastern direction.

Oleg Voytyuk is survived by his wife and two minor children.
