On Saturday, July 15, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Oleksandr Lizunov, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero
Oleksandr Lizunov (April 11, 1986-July 11, 2023) from Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 67 of the city of Lviv. Immediately after completing his studies, he worked as a mechanic.
During 2015-2016, he defended the Motherland in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the East of Ukraine in the ranks of the 15th separate pontoon company of the Central Directorate of Engineering Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After returning, he worked as an electrician at Csikada Plus LLC.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. Died while performing combat missions in the eastern direction.
Oleksandr Lizunov is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
