Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Stepan Tolopko

Tomorrow, December 1, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Stepan Tolopko, who died in the battle with the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The Hero’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a.m. – city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

 

Stepan Tolopko (January 29, 1977-April 16, 2022) from Lviv.

Studied at secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 78. After completing his studies, he obtained a professional and technical education, later he worked in a sanitary-veterinary examination laboratory in Lviv.

In 2000, he moved to Khmelnytskyi. He worked as a mechanic at the agricultural production cooperative of the village of Svyatets.

Since 2014, he performed combat missions in the area of ​​the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After receiving an injury, he returned to civilian life. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, despite the status of a person with a disability as a result of the war, he volunteered to defend the Motherland.

He fought against the Russian invaders in the ranks of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign of the operational command “South” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Stepan Tolopka is survived by his mother, two sisters, three children and his wife.
