On Monday, June 26, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Volodymyr Kozlovsky, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero
Volodymyr Kozlovsky (21.07.1968-19.06.2023) native of Lviv.
Studied at Lviv secondary comprehensive school No. 2 (today – Lyceum No. 2 of the Lviv City Council). Graduated from the Department of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Faculty of Biology, Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
After the first year of study, he completed two years of military service. During 1993-1996, he studied at the graduate school of the Carpathian Ecology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Candidate of biological sciences, majoring in “Ecology”, Ukrainian researcher of soils and ecosystems of Ukraine. He held positions from engineer to senior researcher (since 2018) of the Department of Ecosystemology of the Carpathian Ecology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, as well as a part-time senior researcher of the Scientific Center of the Institute of Mining and Chemical Industry.
In 2005-2006, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University (USA). Author of numerous scientific publications.
According to colleagues and friends of Volodymyr Kozlovskyi, he was extremely hardworking and modest, however, always decisive in his choice, with a clear position in life and a true patriot. He was passionate about his work, actively engaged in sports and tourism.
With the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he became a volunteer for the defense of the Motherland in the ranks of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat tasks in the eastern direction of the front.
Volodymyr Kozlovsky is survived by his wife and two sons.
