Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to five Heroes who defended Ukraine

Tomorrow, February 4, Lviv will say goodbye to five more Heroes. Bohdan Folyusevich, Nazariy Stetsura, Maksym Hrynevych, Volodymyr Kozhevnikov, Oleksandr Pitulya defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremonies and refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral rites of Bohdan Folyusevich, Nazarii Stetsura and Maksym Hrynevych will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:40 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The funeral of Volodymyr Kozhevnikov and Oleksandr Pitula will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 3:40 p.m. – city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Route of funeral processions: Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul UGCC (Tetralna Street, 11) – sq. Cathedral – square Rynok (city farewell ceremony) – str. Ruska – st. Basement – st. Biographical references of Heroes

Bohdan Folyusevich (March 6, 1983-January 21, 2023) from Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 97 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Computer Technologies and Construction” (then – Higher Vocational School N48 of the city of Lviv).

After completing his studies, he served in the military in the city of Rava-Ruska.

For 13 years, he worked as a freight forwarder at the Limited Liability Company Trade and Production Company “First Private Brewery”. Subsequently, he continued to work in the field of freight transportation. He was fond of football.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Transcarpathian Operational Command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland from the Russian invaders.

Bohdan Folyusevich is survived by his mother, brother, son and godfather.

Nazarii Stetsura (March 16, 1997-January 27, 2023) was born in the village of Tarasivka, Lviv region.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 42 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational Polytechnic School”.

Subsequently, he served in the military as part of the A3838 military unit. Worked as senior shift in the “EVA” chain of stores. He was fond of cars.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he defended the Motherland in “hot spots” in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Nazariya Stetsura is survived by his wife, parents and sister.

Maksym Hrynevych (11/13/1996-02/01/2023) from Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 65 of Lviv. He studied at the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

In peacetime, he worked in one of the service centers of the Private Joint Stock Company “Kyivstar” in the city of Lviv.

During 2017-2019, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After returning, he worked at the Private Enterprise “First Social Medical Laboratory “Eskulab”.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 116th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the “North” Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland.

Maksym Hrynevych is survived by his parents, brother and grandmother.

Volodymyr Kozhevnikov (10.03.1967-27.01.2023) native of Lviv.
He studied at the Lviv boarding school No. 2 of the Lviv city council of the Lviv region. He graduated from the former Vocational and Technical School No. 56 of the city of Lviv.

After completing his studies, he served in the army.

In peacetime, he was first an employee of the State Enterprise “Lviv State Plant “LORTA”, later – a firefighter in the 8th State Fire and Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations in the Lviv region. Later he worked in the construction industry.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he defended Ukraine against the invaders. He fought against the terrorist state in the ranks of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Kozhevnikov is survived by his parents, son, grandson and sister.

Oleksandr Pitulya (31.05.1968-23.01.2023) native of Lviv.
He studied at the Lviv secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 71 of the Lviv city council of the Lviv region. He graduated from the former Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 27 of the city of Lviv, majoring in “cook”.

After completing his studies, he served in the military in the city of Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan). For about 5 years, he held the position of a welder at the Lviv Bus Plant Limited Liability Company, later engaged in shoemaking. In recent years, he worked in the construction industry.

In his spare time, he was fond of cooking, fishing and mushroom picking. He liked to do housework.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he fought against the Russian occupiers as part of the 4th separate tank brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky of the Ground Forces Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Pitula is survived by his parents, wife, son and brother with their family.
