On Tuesday, July 30, Lviv will say goodbye to three soldiers. Markiyan Dorosh, Mykhailo Nefyodov, and Volodymyr Ryaby were killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony for the defenders will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

Mykhailo Nefyodov and Markiyan Dorosh will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv, and Volodymyr Ryaboy will be buried at the local cemetery in the village of Konyushky, Mostysk district.

Markiyan Dorosh (23.07.2001-24.07.2024) was a resident of Lviv.

He studied at Lviv State Communal Secondary School No. 3. During his studies, he was actively involved in sports, in particular, aikido, karate and gymnastics. He was also a member of the Plast organization in Lviv.

He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Stavropigial Higher Vocational School of Lviv” and received the profession of “3rd category offset flat-press printer; 3rd category bookbinder”. He was also a member of a number of nationalist organizations, such as the Civilian Corps and the Right Youth. He was interested in the football movement.

After graduation, he worked as a bartender in the restaurant industry in Lviv. He successfully completed the Diageo Bar Academy’s Basic Bartending Course.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the state from the Russian invaders. At first, he served in the 10th Infantry Battalion, where he performed combat missions in Sumy region. During the last period, he defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland as a scout in the ranks of the 116th separate mechanized brigade of the 10th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He fought against the invaders at the Zaporizhzhia and Kupiansk directions, participated in the defense of Avdiivka. During his service, he successfully completed the course of a rescue fighter, as well as the basic course of UAV control. He was repeatedly honored by the military command for his personal courage.

Markiyan Dorosh is survived by his mother.

He studied at Lyceum №15 of the Lviv City Council, and later received vocational education.

After graduation, he served in the military in Baku (Azerbaijan Republic).

At first, he worked at the Lviv State Plant “Lviv Association of Radio Equipment” (LORTA) and at the Private Enterprise “Raduga”, and recently – in the construction industry in Lviv. According to his family, he was “an exceptionally kind person.”

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend the state from the invader. He performed combat missions in the Luhansk region as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Ryaboy is survived by his mother, wife and son.

He studied at the Torez Secondary School No. 4 of the Torez City Council of Donetsk Oblast. He graduated from the Semen Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics. After graduation, he served in the former airborne troops and later in the ranks of the communications troops.

After returning, he lived in his native Torez and worked at the local water utility. He was fond of football. According to his family, he was extremely “cheerful and kind, extremely fond of life.”

In 2021, he moved with his family to Lviv, where he worked at Nova Poshta Limited Liability Company.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the state against the occupier. He defended his homeland in the Donetsk region in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Mykhailo Nefyodov is survived by his parents, wife, son and brother.
